Nevertheless. . . .

That is (fairly) easy.  After a brief consideration of Buster Keaton, I absolutely have *got* to pick Rudolph Valentino.  C'mon.  Not enough ladies swoon over the Sheik anymore, and I swear to you if I were any good at this I would totally make him into a Sim.  But heaven knows plenty of ladies swooned over him in his time.  And of course I have to pick Rudy.  I have a huge picture of him over my fireplace.

There is no such thing as an un-hot picture of Rudolph Valentino.  However, there are not *nearly* enough of them online, so these will have to do.  You get 17 photos, sorry, because I could not pick just ten.


And also, you get a bonus video, because really, to get it, you have to see him in action:




You really must see a whole film with him in it.

And I think I have demonstrated that I have excellent taste.

I'm organizing stuff in preparation for shooting video for Twilight Dreams, but I haven't actually started, and I don't think I'm going to until tomorrow, because I'm not feeling patient enough to deal with the "5 minutes of shooting is 30 seconds of video" ratio today. (Thursday-Sunday was All Guild Wars All The Time, because they had a holiday weekend, too, and yesterday I had housework to do, so today's the first day I've really looked at it anyhow.)

I'm actually going to be doing shooting for three videos: a revised version of the opening theme, the video I intend to release ASAP along with one other thing for the close of Volume 1, and one more video that'll probably come out with or just after Episode 5.

The other things I plan on doing, this week and likely part of next: a small batch of CC, some vacation lot building for S&S, and hopefully some scripting for TD.

Today, tho, I think I'm going to veg out on strategy games.

Hey if anyone has a good quality recording of "Ain't No Cover" I'd LOVE you for it!
I have almost every other song that has been recorded....so if you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours :-p!

So I figured I might as well post another mini-update about the non-main households while I wait for Photoshop to finish resizing my thumbnails for my next actual update. It'll probably be up late tomorrow, I'm thinking... that's if I can get in some good, solid writing time.

And away we go! 
  
That's it! As I said, I'm hoping to get an update out in the next 24-48 hours. I'm cautiously optimistic.

As winter draws to a close we wind up the first season of Teen *Headdesk* with a drama filled episode.

A few nights ago I stayed up past 3 AM getting my sims graduated. My night went like this:

1:00 AM: I've screwed up my sleeping schedule terribly, so it'll be impossible for me to go to sleep now. Maybe I'll just play Sims until I get tired, since nobody is online that's worth talking to.
1:30 AM: YAAAAAY FINAL SEMESTER FOR EVERYONE. I take too long to get through a Sim day. I think I'll just play a little bit more.
2:00 AM: WHY MUST POOLS MAKE MY GAME LAG SO MUCH. Screw you, community lot. Screw you and your wife and children.
2:40 AM: So tired. Sooo tired. But they're almost all graduated. Guitar Hero would probably be a much better game to be obsessed with...
3:00 AM: Just a short graduation party for Mae and I am DONE.
3:20 AM: Yes. A short graduation party. Just not a short graduation party for someone like me who takes so many framming pictures.

So now all the kids have graduated and most are home with their parents or with the parents of their SO. I think Ronika is the only one who is living on her own. I shot a few pictures in each of the houses to put at the end of the next update, which means I'm ready to write now. The update is still shorter than I wish it was, but if I played the houses now so that I could have more pictures I would have to get everyone married, and my OCD will not allow me to have weddings in a college chapter. That would be madness. Madness, I say!

It's hard not to go ahead and play the houses, though. I'm so excited for the next generation. One of the girls is already pregnant, and it's going to bug me so much that I can't see her baby for a while.

Wow generation seven has even more tangled lines than I thought.  

After replying to smjoshsims about ACR and dorm assignments I played around with some charting trying to determine who would be heading to UNI when and who they should live with once they get there.    I generally prefer that the sims living together at University know that they are related to each other.  The way ACR is coded it doesn't matter how in love or how committed two sims are to each other when their timers go off they grab the best available target at hand.  The experimentation and sowing of wild oats bed hopping doesn't bother me all that much, but once I've gotten my heart set on a couple I like to see them remain fairly faithful.  

So yeah where was I going with this?  Right circular interbreeding.  While looking at dorm assignments I was trying to determine who is a first cousin to whom.  It gets pretty complicated at times.

Easter Dreamer who is a first cousin to
Evander Familiar who is a first cousin to
Elani Familiar who is first cousin to
Edward London who is a first cousin to
Everest Indie who is a first cousin to
Evita London who is first cousin to
Edam Smith

It's more complex than that of course, Easter and Evita are also first cousins but Evita isn't related at all closely to Evander being that their closest common ancestor is Betty they'd be third cousins.

All that being said I still have no clue as to how to do housing this go round, I'll probably end up moving people around as more join or leave University.  Due to my dislike of smaller Uni households I'll probably have more bed hopping in the first few years while we wait for younger siblings and first cousins to join the older ones.    I could just do boys and girls dorms I guess and just toss everyone together lotto style which might save me a few headaches in the long run, but then I have to take gender preferences into account as well.  /sigh

As you can see by shinyfairylight's shiny new secrets post, we've considered everyone's input and have altered our... stuff.

And I want to apologize for something I miscommunicated: when I was discussing before not posting secrets, I just meant in my little head 'post them at the bottom like fandomsecret and ljsecret do;' I didn't mean not post them at all and hide them. I'm so used to it being that way in other secret communities I didn't even think to distinguish between the two methods in our discussion. I just wanted to make that clear for anyone who got sad and was like "o noes, teh nazis are coming to steal my wankz away!"

So, anyway, secrets that write over a secret from a previous week are officially banned. Thank God so many people said they hated them because they bug me too. Use the damn comments! Your response to the secret is not that important that you need a whole other secret for it. *hrumph*

Also, we'll be a little stricter on what goes in the sad "not a secret" box. But all us mods here are really conservative about censorship, so it shouldn't be any big thing.

We also reserve the right to squelch any super-wank. Though it would have to be pretty bad.

And I swear this will be the last non-secret/non-submission post in this community for awhile. All is well in Sim-wank land for the time being. If you have any other suggestions, feel free to post them, though comments in this thread are not screened so if you say something stupid everyone can point and laugh at you. And I'll let them.

I was reading PostSecret today and I happened to scroll down to the end of the page, and saw a photo of Kristin - a childhood friend that lived around the block from me in Florida. I did hear when she died, but I was very surprised to see the suicide hotline with Kristin's picture on it.

After researching how the Kristin Brooks Hope Center was founded I had to pass along to Kristin's husband, Reese, that the love he has for her is overwhelming. His devotion to her memory is remarkable, and I just wanted him to know that a friend who knew Kristin a long time ago was proud that she married someone like him. Their child is blessed to have parents like Kristin and Reese.

Thank you for all you do to help people in dark places find their light.
